Cut Costs with DKFol® - Eco Plastic Film

DKFol® - Eco

Film Formulas - Dürrbeck

DKFol® - Eco

  • Very strong
  • Low volume weight
  • Good welding and shrinkage properties
  • Very well suited for machines
  • Food-safe
  • Fully recyclable
  • Reduces film thickness by 25-50% with no reduction in quality

Example:

You currently use LDPE flat film.

100,000 running metres, 1,000 mm x 0.05 mm at a price of € 59.90

DKFol® - Eco flat film

100,000 running metres, 1,000 mm x type C 50 at a price of € 50,90

You save: 15%
That means on an order of 100,000 metres, you save € 900!

  • Lowers your packaging costs and is environmentally friendly thanks to reduced CO2 emissions.
  • Reduces the amount of plastic film you use and therefore waste disposal fees (such as Interseroh and Grüner Punkt fees).
  • Lowers storage and set-up costs.
  • Cuts down on transport costs.

What an excellent way to save precious resources!

DKFol® - Eco-Coex

  • This plastic film is a further development of DKFol® - Eco that allows a further 20-30% reduction in thickness.
  • The special benefit of this type of plastic film is its three layers, which emphasise the unique properties of the individual materials.
  • This allows us to tweak the film to suit your requirements even better. For example, it can be delivered matte on one side and shiny on the other, or black inside and white outside.
  • We can manufacture the film very soft and stretchable, or stiff and tear-resistant – whatever best suits your needs.

Our DKFol®-Eco and DKFol®-Eco-Coex films feature innovative thickness-reduced formulas which, depending on how they are used, allow for the use of reclaimed plastic – two excellent ways to help protect the environment in just one product!

WE CLOSE THE LOOP – with DKFol®-Öko!

The use of reclaimed plastic helps us save resources and is a wonderful contribution to protecting the environment.

There are basically two different types of materials available:

1.Industrial recyclate (IR)

  • We produce recyclate from our own plastic film waste in our in-house recycling process. Our production waste is sorted, ensuring the material exhibits no signs of contamination or dirt, and is barely distinguishable from virgin plastic in terms of both sensory and mechanical properties.
  • Industrial recyclate from other manufacturers / recyclers is usually worse than our own film waste in terms of quality, making its use somewhat limited.

2. Post-consumer recyclate (PCR)

  • This recyclate is produced from waste film. This plastic film has already been used by the end consumer. The waste is washed and processed into plastic regranulate. When processed, this material has a strong odour and a greyish-yellow tint.
  • With our DKFOL®-Öko-Blue brand, we can produce plastic film, plastic bags and mailers from at least 80% PCR material with “Blue Angel” certification. By the way, our mailers are DHL suitable!

The solution to our waste problem lies in circular economy. When it comes to CO2, plastic is actually one of the most eco friendly packaging solutions used worldwide. Generating new packaging from existing plastic waste not only reduces CO2 emissions, it also protects our environment from further pollution!

Let’s close the loop together!

GO BIOPLASTIC – WITH DKFol®-BIO!

We are proud to offer two types of bioplastics:

1) Degradable polymers from bio-based raw materials (such as potatoes or corn)

  • These materials allow for the production of fully-compostable packaging films.
  • These materials are biodegradable. In a natural decomposition process, the organic material is decomposed by the enzymatic effects of the microorganisms present in the soil. What remains (water, carbon dioxide and biomass) is of course harmless to the environment.
  • Depending on the film strength, it is possible to obtain “OK Compost” or “OK Compost Home” certification from the leading European certification authority, TÜV Austria.

2) Green PE

  • These materials are chemically identical to fossil PE but are not made from fossil raw materials; instead they are based on renewable raw materials (sugar cane).
  • The main advantage of Green PE is not only a reduction in CO2. Green PE also looks identical to conventional polyethylene and has the same mechanical properties.
